Good writer. Bad careerist.

I’ve written hundreds of thousands of words for the web. Breezy blogs, complex guides, landing pages... Often for SaaS. Always to spec.

Sadly, my work's anonymous. No bylines, no features, no tentpole pieces. And no convincing metrics to prove I move the needle.

But you should hire me anyway. Consider the apt descriptors below.

Underrated.

People take shortcuts when hiring. I can’t wheel out a classic portfolio of hits (and won’t pretend otherwise) so they wrongly assume I’m not that good. Big mistake.

Underused.

I’m not booked out for months. I have the skills to lead a top-class content team, yet I’m as free as a fresh graduate with no goals and a weed habit. Convenient!

Under no illusions.

I know my value, but I’m not in a position to make demands. I need to earn trust and prove I can be indispensable, so I'll work to maximise my impact.

Not selected by companies including

Deemed it futile to apply for roles with

An economical do-it-all creative.

Tweaking websites, designing graphics, digging into SEO, harnessing AI (or battling it)... If I don't already have the expertise, I'll develop it.

In fact, you'll struggle to find something I won't manage. Need clownery? I'll don a big red wig and provide a suitably uncomfortable experience.

So if you like the sound of an ultra-versatile addition to your team, consider giving me a shot. It's a steal of a deal.

Skills that (could) pay my bills.

  • Knowing what AI systems can and can’t do.
  • Handling the creative and the technical.
  • Following briefs but pushing back where needed.
  • Making complicated topics easy to understand.
  • Identifying ways to boost your efficiency.
  • Being more flexible than a microwaved slinky.

I get hired (sometimes).

At Seeker Digital, I went from Junior Digital Copywriter to Content Lead. I wrote, edited, advised, managed, fixed, and had my fingers in so many pies that my knuckles still smell faintly of assorted fruits and meats.

I’ve otherwise been a fitfully occupied freelancer working on technical content. If you’re unwilling to hire someone totally unvetted, rest assured.

I can share some writing.

Just not much, thanks to my anonymity and the nightmare of finding where (if anywhere) most of my work has ended up.

Here’s one. Here’s another. And a third. There’s even a fourth.

Hoping to dig deeper? You’re in luck. I don’t have a standard portfolio, but I do have a portfauxlio. If you squint, it might pass muster.

If that still isn’t enough, tell me what you need. Give me a task. Bring it on. I might even do it for free if I really want to work for you. (No promises.)

What I’m looking for.

It's straightforward, really.

I'm open to work that's remote (or commutable from South-East Wales). Full-time, part-time, freelance, contract… It’s all on the table.

If it does some good in the world, perfect. If it's interesting, great. But whatever the circumstances may be, I'll do my best.

Got anything for me?

I’m ready to go, coach. Put me in the game!
